Since last year, under Mr. Kohei Takata of Takata Production, I have been helping with detailed work on the Japan side, even working through the New Year holidays. The event “LUFT TOKYO” has now been officially announced, so I would like to share the news. For information on LUFTGEKUHLT led by Patrick Long, please see here. LUFT TOKYO will borrow the Metropolitan Expressway KK Line, which was closed last year, from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and on Saturday 3/14, representative Japanese air-cooled Porsches will be exhibited on the KK Line. The lineup will include historic Porsches of lasting significance, extremely rare Porsches, and racing Porsches that have competed throughout Japan—an array of Porsches that are not ordinarily seen. Many Porsches that I myself have never seen in person will also appear.
Participation by the general public will be limited in number, but entries will be accepted starting Thursday 1/22. In addition, tickets for entry on 3/14 are scheduled to go on sale from Monday 2/2, so please check here for future updates. The images shown are postcards, which are being distributed to those who wish to receive them at the Sendagaya store. Quantities are limited, so if you would like one, please visit the Sendagaya store as soon as possible. I was allowed to go up onto the KK Line during the shoot, and although I have driven this road countless times before, walking it on foot revealed a truly astonishing view. Just imagining air-cooled Porsches laid out there like a museum was enough to make me shiver with excitement. I sincerely hope many of you will come and see it.
