The team at Sekai Bunka Publishing requested something unique for a limited edition release on Begin Market. After brainstorming with Creative Director Takuya Mitsuki, we decided to revive the “lifeless lifelike” graphic—a design once featured on the “Licca-chan” doll sweatshirt. During the initial Licca-chan project, I dreamed of dolls wandering our office at night, which inspired the phrase lifeless lifelike. This resonated with a comment from a veteran Kanekichi artisan, who once told me that each TSURIAMIKI has its own personality, almost like a human being. I am thrilled to bring back this meaningful logo on a new T-shirt.
Some of you may have seen this displayed in our store before.
Yes, this is a graphic reprint of the sweatshirt this girl is wearing.
At that time, we produced and sold sweatshirts similar to the sweatshirts worn by Rika-chan, using a pattern exclusively for women. We did not produce a men's version, so this is the first time we are making a men's size sweatshirt.
Although the TSURIAMIKI is a machine without life or spirit, and the sweatshirts are merely products, there are times when I feel like these machines are somehow alive. I sometimes feel that the TSURIAMI sweatshirts created by these machines also hold life and spirit. It might sound strange, but I think that warmth and richness we feel when wearing them come from this. It’s because they’re made through the hands of people. I truly believe that they carry the heartfelt dedication of the artisans who support LOOPWHEELER.
To commemorate this, we printed the “lifeless lifelike” logo with the unique “e” from the Begin font. This T-shirt, paired with the LOOPWHEELER Complete Book, is priced at 14,850 yen (tax included), available in white only, in sizes S to XL. Sales will begin on Begin Market at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 15. The URL for the link should become active by November 14. The regular edition (book only) will be available in general bookstores and online from Friday, November 15, priced at 1,700 yen (tax included). Thank you very much!
