The third episode of “Thus, LOOPWHEELER Is Made”, titled “The Origins of LOOPWHEELER”, is now streaming on YouTube. I’d be delighted if you could take a moment to watch it. This episode revisits the period just before LOOPWHEELER was founded — when I began OEM production work, known as “Furiya,” with just two pattern makers. We received projects from DC brands and Ura-Harajuku apparel houses, and I share a few behind-the-scenes stories from those days that bring back many memories.
Many of the people I met and worked with back then remain connected today, still creating together through LOOPWHEELER collaborations — something I’m truly grateful for. My first visit to New York also left a lasting impact, leading directly to the founding of LOOPWHEELER. That experience gave me a deep conviction in the excellence of Made in Japan craftsmanship and the belief that TSURIAMI loopwheel machines must never be lost — they must be preserved and passed on to the next generation.
That sense of purpose, that mission, became the foundation of my life’s work. Even now, my passion to uphold that belief remains as strong as ever. I hope you’ll enjoy listening to the story behind it all.
