Teddy BROWN

My friend Takahiro Oya has opened a hamburger restaurant called Teddy BROWN in Hiroo on April 3. Since it has just opened, its Tabelog page is still quite simple. There seems to be a behind-the-scenes story about the illustration and the logo, so if you visit, please try asking about it.

It is said that it’s quite difficult for hamburger restaurants to do well during evening hours, but he decided to take on that challenge and open the restaurant with that conviction. I personally feel sympathy and admiration for that mindset.

The signature TB BURGER features a Japanese Black Wagyu patty, fried egg, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and teriyaki sauce. It comes with two types of Potato Wedges fried in rice oil. Simply put, it’s incredibly delicious. It’s the kind of burger that might make it hard to go anywhere else afterwards. They face every ingredient sincerely, prepare everything carefully by hand, and use thoughtful techniques to craft their food. In particular, the potatoes—fried in rice oil—are light and you can eat as many as you want. The buns are also specially made to their specifications.

Another signature item is the TEDDY BURGER. This one features a Japanese Black Wagyu patty, egg salad, grilled onions, grilled mini tomatoes, and aurora sauce. This one was also incredibly delicious.

The side dishes include coleslaw, potato salad, homemade onion rings, and homemade chicken bites. Everything is made in-house, so you can feel at ease.

Mr. Kajiwara from LOWERCASE also makes an appearance.

Here’s the menu for reference… though it might be a bit hard to read.

Here’s the original artwork.

I can’t help but feel that, before long, they’ll often end up having to close early after selling out of ingredients. It’s in a really nice location, so I highly recommend you pay them a visit. They also offer homemade lemonade and ginger ale, so I think it’s a healthy option too.
