I saw Daisuke Ohana's exhibition “Record of Distress” at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya, which will be held from tomorrow, Saturday, October 19 to Monday, November 4, 2012. The exhibition will be held on the occasion of the release of the commemorative book “Record of Pain” (PARCO Publishing).
Books will also be available for purchase at the venue.
The exhibition shows how he used to travel around the U.S. purchasing vintage clothing during his go-getter days before he started N. Hari.
In the days before GPS, car navigation systems, and of course iPhones, we relied on maps. I went to New York for the first time in 1997. At that time, I wrote down information about stores on a map and relied on it to guide me on my various adventures.
I know that feeling.
I was not a buyer of vintage clothing, but I was buying vintage clothing to unravel the question of how long ago sweatshirts were made using a TSURIAMIKI.
I would go to second-hand markets, but in the end I would get information about suppliers from people who had stalls at the markets, and I would find vendors who had piles of used clothing in their warehouses, and I would climb up those piles. I would dig out the sweatshirts and T-shirts I was looking for as if I were on a treasure hunt.
However, I am amazed at how he kept so many photos.
I wonder if he's already drunk... LOL.
He's drinking a lot... I wonder how many bottles he've had.
Quite nice items.
Snoopy!
I think we should do Snoopy again, too. Congratulations, Dai-chan!
