LUFT TOKYO ML962

Today marks the third time I have gone up onto the Tokyo Expressway KK Line, which serves as the venue for LUFT TOKYO. While Mr. Takada's team has the major task of shooting MADLANE962, I wanted to once again carefully check how the participating vehicles would be positioned—and whether they could be positioned as planned—so I walked the 2 km stretch at a slow pace, trying to draw a clear map in my mind. I went up from Yurakucho, walked to Shimbashi, and then spent nearly two hours walking back to Yurakucho. It was cold!!

From around the Marunouchi Bridge area, you can see the Peninsula Hotel and the Shinkansen. The cluttered scenery has an indescribable quality to it.

This might be the most familiar spot for many of you—Shin-Sukiyabashi! Fujiya, SONY, and Hermès! If you continue straight, you reach Harumi. This place is truly moving. I really want everyone to see it!

The view toward the Imperial Palace from Shin-Sukiyabashi. On the right is Hankyu.

A view of Taimei Elementary School from the back—I didn’t know it had a pool. The usual image of Taimei Elementary School is probably from around Aux Bacchanales or the Leica Ginza store. On the right-hand side you can see the Imperial Hotel.

The section from Yamashita Bridge to Shinko Bridge runs parallel to the Shinkansen. Unfortunately, there is a risk of stopping the Shinkansen, so it seems we must make this section off-limits. Sorry about that... I expect that you might be able to capture photos of the Shinkansen running toward this area from around Minami-Sukiyabashi.

The MADLANE962 placed at the Dobashi corner. Today’s star. And Kazuki Ohashi is absolutely crazy (of course, meant as a compliment), and I love it. He went ahead and made this... Still only 31 years old!!

I can’t wait to see what kind of growth he will show from here. And I would be happy if he could show us a world we have never seen before!

On the day of the event, an authentic 962 race car that was active in Japanese racing is also scheduled to participate, so please look forward to it! In addition, many air-cooled Porsches that are truly like national treasures of Japan will be participating, so I think it is well worth paying the admission fee to see them. Japanese Porsches that you don’t often encounter at Daikoku or Tatsumi will be joining us!

Step by step, we are moving forward toward LUFT TOKYO. LOOPWHEELER has begun with the production of staff uniforms, and we are also preparing so that a capsule collection limited to LOOPWHEELER’s three stores can go on sale starting Saturday, March 14.

First, starting Thursday 1/22, entries for general participant vehicles will open, so if you drive an air-cooled Porsche, we sincerely hope you will apply. If there are many applications, we may have to hold a lottery, but we would be extremely happy if we could share the atmosphere of this KK LINE—something that can only be experienced in Tokyo—with as many of you as possible. Of course, even if you do not own a car, admission tickets will go on sale starting Monday 2/2, so we hope you will purchase one and make March 14 a once-in-a-lifetime memory. Thank you very much for your support. @Satoshi Suzuki
