The American Sea Island Cotton in our regular lineup combines an ASIC outer and middle yarn with a Fanon — a count 10 single-ply untwisted yarn — for the inner. The ASIC (short for American Sea Island Cotton) outer and middle yarns use a 60/2 thread count.
This new All-ASIC version uses ASIC for the inner yarn as well. And the outer and middle yarns step up to 80/3 — an even finer, more supple, and more lustrous yarn than the 60/2. The inner yarn is knitted using two strands of ASIC 60/2 held together. This is a fairly obsessive TSURIAMI loopback that I think only LOOPWHEELER could produce.
We have achieved an outstanding All-ASIC TSURIAMI loopback, but unfortunately the available quantity of 80/3 yarn within Japan is limited, and orders for this LW373 zip jacket will be capped accordingly. Based on our calculations, we have enough yarn for approximately 100 pieces across all three stores combined, so please understand that once the limit is reached at each store, orders will close.
Available in one color — Black — in four sizes from S to XL. The price is 85,000 yen (tax excluded). Whether we will be able to make the same thing next year I cannot say, so if this All-ASIC TSURIAMI loopback speaks to you, I hope you will place an order. The texture is something you would not expect from 100% cotton. The finishing process is also rather involved — we asked Toyosen, who have been working with steam tumbler finishing for 100 years, to handle the dyeing and then finish the fabric using their signature steam tumbler method after dyeing. That process contributes further to the comfortable hand feel, luster, and suppleness of this TSURIAMI loopback. I hope you will come and try it on first. Thank you, as always. @Satoshi Suzuki
